After playing around with Leselys yesterday I realized it just wasn't going to cut it. There were some serious bugs that really bothered me and the developer wasn't too responsive. I looked through other projects on GitHub.com and stumbled across selfoss. It's PHP and MySQL based which makes it a bit easier for me to work with. It was fun playing around with Heroku however!

The interface is clean. There's lots of settings you can adjust. Setup also only took me about 15 minutes. I did have to install an extra PECL module, but that took all of 45 seconds. I was able to easily import my Google Reader OPML file. selfoss allows you to tag your feeds, rename, star them, and supports keyboard shortcuts. It looks like I have no finally found my RSS feeder replacement.

The site also includes a iPad and iPhone layout. I suppose I won't be having much use for Reeder.app now 😓 At least this app I can access from any web browser.
